About 2096

Our Mission

Troop 2096 has been actively fulfilling the promise of providing an exciting Boy Scout Program to the boys in West Cobb County since March of 2001.  The aims of Troop 2096 are character development, citizenship training and personal fitness for Scouts.  Troop 2096 has a tradition and philosophy of outdoor high-adventure style programs with a boy-led Troop.  Our goal is to help young men learn leadership skills while participating in and enjoying outdoor activities and community projects.

Troop Profile

Troop 2096' tradition has been to go on weekend campouts almost every month and to a week-long summer camp every year.  To name just a few things … we’ve cooked, canoed, hiked, fired rifles, shot bows and arrows, ridden bikes and horses, swam, fished, climbed rocks and mountains.  We’ve seen a lot of beautiful country and experienced the adventures of Northern Tier!  We’ve built things and torn up a few things; camped in the heat and the cold, in the rain and in the snow.  We’ve cleaned parks, lakeshores, and more.  And ALL of it was fun!

During our 6 years of service, Troop 2096 has had the honor of bestowing the rank of Eagle upon 7 outstanding young men.  We have several others moving quickly from Life to Eagle who will soon join this prestigious group.   Will you be one of them?  We surely hope so!  Troop 2096 has an experienced and committed group of leaders standing ready to guide you on your journey.

Stop by and say hello!

Troop 2096 meets every Monday night (except school holidays), from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in Barnes Hall, at First Baptist Church Acworth, 4583 Church Street in Acworth, Georgia.  The church is located in historic downtown Acworth, just off HWY 92 and north Main Street.  We welcome any boy and family to visit in person to see how Scouting might work for you.

There’s a place for everyone in Troop 2096!  We’re always in need of more adult volunteers, either as Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members and Merit Badge Counselors.  More active adults means a stronger program for the boys!
